"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." – Ralph Waldo Emerson
Ralph Waldo Emerson said it best. Ultimately, it is what's inside us, and what we do with it, that defines us.
Hank lived up to that challenge. He did the right things. He lived a life of dignity, caring for his family, cherishing the love of his wife and children, and earning the respect of everyone who knew him.
Hank lived with a spirit filled with caring and generosity, which he gave to his family and extended freely to relatives and friends. He accepted the responsibility of caring for others and extended kindness wherever he could. When asked, he gave. When called upon, he delivered.
As we all pass through this earthly presence, what we leave behind is how our lives are measured. Hank passed the test.
I will miss Hank. I will miss his view of the world. His was a positive light that contributed to the brightness we all need to nurture.
